Pink & Green with Altenew Stamps

Hello,

I am stopping by to share some cards I created with inspiration from Altenew's March Challenge Photograph.Check out these three cards and let me know what you think.

Card 1:

It is a double fold card. I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil for the background and Persian Motifs stamps. Distress inks are used for background coloring while Prima's watercolor pencils for flowers. I love those pencils- they are soft and easily turns into watercolors with a touch of water. If you color with pencils first and add water, it creates nice gradient, almost like that can be created with Zig's Clean Clear brush markers. The sentiment is from Avery Elle's latest die set. The baker's twins hold two flaps of the card front.

Card 2:

This one is my favorite. I used Roman Tile Embossing folder from Cuttlebug, Persian Motifs stamps set from Altenew. Distress inks and Prima Watercolor Pencils are used for coloring. Sentiments from JustRite stamps and Avery Elle die. I added flat sequins for some interest.

Card 3:

I used Spellbinder's Grate Effect die to represent texture created by well designed and manicured garden in the challenge picture. Orchids are from Oriental Orchid Stamp set and the sentiment from Label love stamp set from Altenew.

Royal Elements- Happy Birthday

Hello all,

Today, I am posting a card I made for Altenew's October challenge.

I usually do not make cards just to participate in challenges but I try to get inspiration from those challenges and incorporate its requirement in my existing ideas for card marking. However, this time I have put an extra effort to create a card just to submit to Altenew's current challenge. I am a big fan of their floral stamps.

So, here is the card.

I used Persian Motifs stamps to embossed with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper. I then colored them with Prima Marketing's watercolor pencils- No. 30 (magenta) and No. 60(light peach).
This is the first time I used these watercolor pencils and I like brightness of the colors and the way the color pigments just dissolves with touch of water. They are very smooth and easy to work with. I had Artists' loft watercolor pencils that I bought years ago. I did not like to use them. These Prima's pencils are my second watercolor pencil purchase which I did after some consideration and a lot of wait. I bought Scenic Route, and Spring and Fall sets. They are available right now. I am happy with them and see my self using them over and over again. Gold in flowers and dark-ish gold in leaves are from Metallic Gelatos. After coloring I cutout the images.

I diecut borders in gold foiled cardstock with Spellbinders' Fleur de Lis Squares dies. What can be more royal than 'Fleur de Lis'! I cut a square from matching magenta cardstock. I used peach colored fun foam square for smaller square layer which I then attached underneath a same sized vellum piece to dampen its brightness and possible color clash with magenta.

Lastly, I assembled all the elements. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. And, as a final touch I added black rhinestones...I just had to add as many colors from the challenge photos as I can! :)

 Enjoy!
