Amazing Orchids in Blue & Yellow

Hello!

I am stopping by to add a card I created to submit in Altenew's challenge for May.
I like their Orchid stamps. So I have combined it today with Penny Black's Geometric border diecut.
I used Artist's Loft watercolor paper for the flowers with white embossing powder and Gansai Tambi for water-coloring.

Projects in Teal & Purple

Hello all,

Today's post is going to b cards inspired by Altenew's April Challenge. The color combination in the challenge photograph is the one have not tried before. It is so different and inspiring that I could not stop at three projects. I am planning to do more cards in this color combination.

A Cheerful Heart- Mixed Media Canvas

Hello all,

I had been thinking of trying my hand at creating a mixed media project using a canvas panel. Creating a mixed media is an attractive, fulfilling process but most of the time I find myself not having enough patience or inspiration or material for it.

This one is made using amalgamation of different stamp brands and colors. I first applied gesso on the canvas panel. I used Distress Crayons set-1 for the background. I loved using crayons to create quick colorful background. Applying them with figures is really fun! I used Penny Black's Stencil with Ranger's texture paste. I added texture over the paste with a pin. Once it dried, I applied and smudged crayons over the flowers. Later, I stamped different elements with Kaisercraft's texture stamp, Altenew's Hennah Elements in background, stenciled black dotes with Heidi Swapp's stencil. With Embossing Pen, I added vertical, embossed golden lines. The stamped sentiment is from My Favorite Things' Cheerful Blessings stamp set, the butterflies are from Altenew's Wild Hibiscus stamp set. I added diecut branches from, believe it or not, Elyse Christmas Tree die of Memory Box. I love to use pieces of this exquisite Christmas tree diecut many times as foliage.

I guess, it turned out well. I enjoyed creating it, I hope to improve on some steps and make more of these.

Pink & Green with Altenew Stamps

Hello,

I am stopping by to share some cards I created with inspiration from Altenew's March Challenge Photograph.Check out these three cards and let me know what you think.

Card 1:

It is a double fold card. I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil for the background and Persian Motifs stamps. Distress inks are used for background coloring while Prima's watercolor pencils for flowers. I love those pencils- they are soft and easily turns into watercolors with a touch of water. If you color with pencils first and add water, it creates nice gradient, almost like that can be created with Zig's Clean Clear brush markers. The sentiment is from Avery Elle's latest die set. The baker's twins hold two flaps of the card front.

Card 2:

This one is my favorite. I used Roman Tile Embossing folder from Cuttlebug, Persian Motifs stamps set from Altenew. Distress inks and Prima Watercolor Pencils are used for coloring. Sentiments from JustRite stamps and Avery Elle die. I added flat sequins for some interest.

Card 3:

I used Spellbinder's Grate Effect die to represent texture created by well designed and manicured garden in the challenge picture. Orchids are from Oriental Orchid Stamp set and the sentiment from Label love stamp set from Altenew.
