Botanical Swirls- Heartfelt Thanks

Here is the second card type for today.

I have been meaning to create something of this kind for long. I have this die from Spellbinders which diecuts a whole panel for the front of a card. I did not want to plainly paste the panel on a contrasting cardstock. So, I thought of using watercolors to create a background. I wanted to see how light, bright- Twisted Citron and dark purple- Dusty Concord distress colors will look together.

So, I made the background on a watercolor paper. I adhered two layers of the die-cuts for a bit of thickness. On one panel, I added Studio G's glitter glue on some swirls, another one I have kept as is. For butterflies, I stamped them, colored them with Spectrum Noirs, and for added interest I covered them with glossy accents. With an intention to not hide this die-cut under a sentiment piece, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of plastic cardstock with quick drying alcohol drink. I loved that idea!

Enjoy!
