When I saw Simon Says Stamp's Monday challenge this week, I saw a chance to create and share what I had in my mind for last two weeks. So, I merged paining and stamping (to create a quick, smaller version of my original idea) and made this card on Zion canyon.
I used watercolors for the paining. The tent and sentiment comes from a stamp set.
Angels's landing is at top of the fin like rock formation (in center left of the painting), with cliffs on sides and straight vertical drop at the edge. In 1916, one of the explorers of Zion Frederick Fisher exclaimed "Only an angel could land on it". And, I guess, since then it became a sort of challenge for humans to reach atop it!
The views of the canyons from above are incredible.
