Victorian Arch- Congratulations cards

Hello,

Today, I tried my hands on a very intricate, beautiful die from Spellbinders called Victorian Arch. It may be apparent from my cards that I have some sort of a predilection for circular, arch shapes. I believe that circular shapes attract attention, break visual straight lines as well as help enhance whatever shape put in front. I don't know from where I have got this idea. But, most of the times it works.

With this die in my hand, I could not resist trying different techniques. So, I ended up creating five cards. Here are two for this post.
Card 1
Card 2
 ---

Card 1:

I die-cut and embossed the detailed arch in whilte cardstock as well as roses from another Spellbeinder's die- Romantic Roses in red cardstock. I die-cut the bigger, outer shape of the arch in gold foiled cardstock and adhere it under the white arch. I cut a 2" wide plastic paper and folded it in middle. This plastic connects front and back panels of the card. I cut outer arch shape again from white cardstock twice. Sandwiching back edge of the plastic fold in between these two white shapes created the back panel of the card. I made sure that all the circles shapes align perfectly.

Lastly, I added roses and flourishes from the Romantic Roses die set. I went over the roses with bright red marker as they were not bright enough in the cardstock I used. I also painted them over with matching pearlescent watercolor for shimmer. Because the center of the arch was too bright in gold shine, I added a section of one of the shape from Spellbinder's Damask Accent Die set in vellum. The sentiment was added in vellum. Finally, I embellished it with pearls.

Card 2:

Following I did differently for this second card. I used black patterned paper under the delicate arch die-cut which I had sponged lightly in chocolate brown ink. The plastic piece here has total 3" width. And, sentiment is on white cardstock. I painted over the whole arch shape with mildly reddish brown pearlescent color.
